My Life List can’t be the only company to move its operations from California to Boston– but as a social network that exists to support others’ major goals, we understand what it takes to get behind a huge idea and bring it to life.
That’s why we became part of this innovation-centric community in the first place, to help it grow and succeed as we did, right here in Oliver Wendell Holmes’ “Hub of the Universe.”
Deciding to make the transition to the East Coast wasn’t difficult, considering its reputation for excellence and access to a power grid of universities and hospitals that pride themselves on leadership, knowledge and achievement. We couldn’t lead the next generation of social networks, focused on meaningful engagement, by chasing the pack in Silicon Valley. My Life List needed a home where reaching significant goals is a given, and also where the high cost of dissatisfaction, and its ripple effects on health care, employment and economic stability, were well understood. Hello, Innovation District.
What we found when we got here was a motivated community ready to support startups and give them a hand out of the Valley of Death, the entrepreneurial twilight zone that tests your will as much as your business model. Creativity and innovative thinking are nurtured, through world-class accelerator programs such as MassChallenge and the City of Boston’s initiative to develop living/working space on Boston’s gorgeous waterfront, dedicated to the economic engine that startups fuel.
Winning the Innovation District Welcome Home Challenge was a moment we’ll never forget, one that has given My Life List a much-needed boost of funding and acknowledgment, so we can continue with our work of inspiring others to live their best, balanced lives.
What a relief to finally be home.
