“We are one Boston. We are one community. As always, we will come together to help those most in need. And in the end, we will all be better for it.”
- Mayor Thomas M. Menino
Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino have announced the formation of The One Fund Boston, Inc. to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.
CareCloud, a Miami-based healthcare IT company, celebrated the opening of its first Boston office in the Innovation District. BRA Director Peter Meade, on behalf of Mayor Menino, joined CareCloud CEO Albert Santalo, and CareCloud Chief Technology Officer, John Walsh, at the celebration.
CareCloud, one of the fastest growing healthcare IT companies in the U.S., is providing the latest in cloud-based practice management, electronic health record (EHR) and medical billing software and services to medical groups. CareCloud chose Boston because of its established healthcare ecosystem, talent pool, and unmatched local government support. The company employs a total of 160 employees and grew over 140% in the last year. CareCloud’s Boston office will grow from 14 employees to 35-50 employees this year and 100 employees by the end of 2014.
LifeTech Boston was instrumental in helping CareCloud find its new home, in joining Boston’s business community, and in recruiting and creating jobs – critical for sustaining its record growth.
“I want to congratulate CareCloud on their beautiful new office and welcome them to our booming Innovation District. Thanks to the work of the LifeTech Boston team, CareCloud is on track to thrive in the growing life sciences and healthcare technology cluster along the South Boston Waterfront.” – Mayor Menino
200+ new companies and 4,000 new jobs since January 2010
The growth is spread across a variety of business sectors with a diverse range of small, mid-scale, and large companies.
“Dynamic companies want to be part of Boston’s innovation community and part of our larger community. They want to make contributions to the community through their expertise, time, and resources. I have never in 20 years been more optimistic about Boston’s future. We are setting trends, not following them.” – Mayor Menino

Neighbors from across industries shared ideas and networked. With the Boston Innovation Center opening this spring and more than 1.8 million SF under construction, the Innovation District continues to build its social infrastructure, offering space for collaboration and cross-pollination.
